Not quite sure about something to do with our Breakfast, After School or Holiday Clubs?

Breakfast and After School Clubs

What activities will my child be doing?


We offer a range of different activities every day. Children have the option to take part in activities including arts and crafts, board games and puzzles, dressing up, outdoor play and more!




How do I know how my child is getting on?


You are more than welcome to ask for some feedback from the club manager at drop off/pick up should you wish. If your child is struggling in the session for any reason, you will be contacted should we feel it is necessary.




Will you provide food and what would that include?


Yes. Breakfast clubs will include toast and cereal. After school clubs will include a light snack at the start of the session with a light tea being offered from 4.30pm onwards. We will upload example weekly menus shortly.




Will you help younger ones with toileting?


Yes, children will be reminded regularly to visit the toilet and we will support them should they need assistance or if they have an accident. We ask that you send in spare clothes if your child may have an accident.




How many children will be at the club?


Depending on the limits we can have anywhere up to 70 children depending on the school facilities available.




What are your staffing ratios?


We operate with a 1:10 ratio of staff to children.




Can my child bring their own toys?


Unfortunately no, sorry! We will provide plenty of different activities and toys for children to use so this shouldn't be a problem.




Will my child get to play outside?


Yes! We encourage outdoor play in every club.




Can my child use their phone?


Unfortunately not. Should you need to contact your child we ask that you contact uKids.




Who can attend the clubs?


Our clubs are open for any children from Foundation through to Year 6 in the school.




Will activities be the same every day?


No, we will mix up the activities and also run themed activities depending on the time of year.




What are the timings?


Most breakfast clubs will start at 7.30pm and finish when school starts. After school clubs will start at the end of the school day until 6pm. You can book your after school club to start at 4.30pm if your child is attending other extra-curricular activities.




How does pick-up and drop-off work?


Please go to the "about" section on your schools club page for specific instructions on where to pick up and drop off.




Do you collect children from their classroom?


Yes, we will and will make sure they get to their classroom in the morning if they are attending a breakfast club.




Can my child attend after attending an extra curricular club?


Yes, please book them into the 4.30pm-6pm session.




Who do I go to for questions?


Please go to your school club's "about" section. You will find the relevant number to get through to your club manager.




How will you support my child on their first day?


Your child will be given an explanation of how the club works when they arrive and we will check in on them throughout the session to make sure they are comfortable.





Payment

Can I use childcare vouchers?


Yes, you will need the Ofsted Registration Number and your voucher providers Unique Reference Number. These can be found in our "childcare voucher" section.




Can I pay by card?


Yes, via our online booking system.




Can I pay by cash?


Unfortunately no.




Can I pay by cheque?


Unfortunately no.




Can I stagger my payments?


If your booking is over £200, please contact the office to organise a payment plan




Is there a sibling discount?


Yes, you will pay the full amount for the first child and every other sibling booked on will be paid at 10% off.




What is your refund policy?


Cancellation within 72 hours or more notice of the booking date – 100% credit note Cancelleation with less than 72 hours notice of the booking date – no credit note available




Is there a discount for booking a full week?


Yes, you will receive a 10% discount if you book the full week.




Is my booking confirmed if I haven't paid yet?


No, bookings are only confirmed once payment has been received.





COVID

How will you follow COVID guidelines?


We will issue a full operational protocol which will include all of our safety measures. This will be published for each individual venue. As guidelines are constantly changing, we will publish an appropriate protocol when new clubs start and this will be reviewed regularly.





Bookings

How do I book?


All bookings will be online, once setup there will be more detailed booking information for your school's booking process.




My child has special educational needs, can I book?


uKids aim to involve every child wherever possible. When booking please make the additional needs clear so we can look into how we can support your child. We would also suggest raising this to the club manager prior to your child’s first visit.
We are able to look into 1:1 care should your child need this and this will be invoiced extra at an hourly rate. We will need time to organise this so please contact us should this be required prior to booking.




Can I book over the phone?


We ask for all bookings to be made online. If you are having difficulty booking, please feel free to contact one of the team who will be able to assist you.




How far in advance can I book?


Bookings can be made for the entire school year.




When is the latest I can book on?


You can book on the day of the required session should you need to, the booking system will only let you book if there are enough spaces available.

Staffing

What qualifications do your staff have?


At least one member of staff on site will hold the Paediatric First Aid 12 Hour Course
All staff will have been trained to understand our safeguarding policy and procedures and have received training in recognising signs of abuse and neglect
All staff will have received training in recognising the signs of radicalisation and how to respond to concerns All staff involved in food preparation will have had food handling training At least one member of staff will have a Child Protection Level 1 or Basic qualification, and will have attended a Child Protection Designated Person training course




Will staff stay the same?


Yes, we plan to keep staff in one setting to maintain consistency. There may be changes to accomodate staff absence or increased demand for staff due to increased numbers of children attending.




Will I know who will be working with my child?


We publish the manager's name but we do not publish all other members of staff. You are welcome to ask for a quick introduction to the team should you wish.




Will there be a manager at the club?


Yes, our clubs all have a manager and a deputy.




What happens if you do not have enough staff?


We have a head office team that will be available to attend should we be low on staff.





Holiday Clubs

What activities will my child be doing?

Unfortunately not at the holiday camps, please provide your child with enough food for the day. We generally have a morning and afternoon snack aswell as lunch which you would need to send in with your child.

Holiday clubs will open at 7.30am and close at 5.30pm. There are a number of different timing options to book: Early Bird | 7:30am - 3:30pm | £28 Core Day | 9:30am - 3:30pm | £23 Late Pick Up | 9:30am - 5:30pm | £30 Full Day | 7:30am - 5:30pm | £28
